Bird

I am doing this wooden bird figure again but this time I am using a modeling clay as my medium!


And this is my finished work. My teacher Lui's work is on the lower left inset.


The next challenge is to draw the bird using colored pencils:

Tree Movements

Today I am drawing a tree. But I am not just drawing a tree, I am drawing the movements on a tree. It is my assignment all week. Lui asked me to observe the different movements around me and I chose the tree at the back of our house.

I have to keep practicing the use of primary colors to achieve secondary colors because I always forget! So to make green leaves I use blue and then I blend in yellow. I use red to darken it and to achieve brown shadows! And yellow to capture the light coming from the sun!

The leaves are falling and the birds are chirping. Do you see the movements on my tree?

Bird

This is one of our wooden bird ornaments.
It is perfect to practice my lines and colors.


Of course I enjoy drawing it with my teacher Lui.

A fun exercise to draw objects in motion. And it is also my assignment this week: to observe objects and things that are in motion and how I can capture them in my drawings!
