Sketchpad Doodles: Walking Tour

Walking can lead us to two roads and I have to decide which one to take . . .

Walking with my teacher Lui!

Images in the Park

I went out for a walk with Lui to capture scenes on my sketchpad. It is not easy to choose images from the many beautiful things along the way. In the park, I saw this huge tree with lots of birds singing.

Lui asked me to observe the tree and the birds. I have to draw the shapes and color them the way I see them!

It was fun and Lui said I captured the essence of the scene so well! I was so happy I made another drawing of the playground train set featured on my previous post!

My Easter Cards

I make my own cards to give to my loved ones.
I am making them early so I will not be late.

My Mother's Flower

It blooms in our backyard.
It is the subject for my art session.

This is my teacher Lui's drawing.

And this is mine.

One composition.
Two drawings.
Two interpretations.

Interaction Series

This is an interaction session with Lui. We both worked on separate papers using my own concept and technique.

This is my own drawing using watercolor pencils.

And this is Lui's interpretation of my drawing using oil pastels. Lui followed and copied my lines and colors as I worked. This allows Lui to experience my own drawing. Lui said she enjoyed the way I layer my colors.

Two drawings.
One concept.
One technique.
Yet two different interpretations.

Guyito

Guyito is the hardworking carabao in the Philippines and is the mascot of the newspaper Inquirer which we read in our house. Lui asked me to draw Guyito as part of our drawing exercise.

A Tree and A Bird

This is my drawing of one of our trees in the back of our house (see actual picture below) which can be seen from the area where I do my art workshop with my teacher Lui. I only did the tree trunk because I wanted to capture the bird beside it.
