Banig on Primary Colors

I always have regular exercises using the primary colors because Lui said I keep forgetting!
So this week I am doing banig (local mat) patterns using the primary colors.
Using the colors red, yellow, blue I have to do patterns using lines that go left to right and up and down.
Then I make dots and color some boxes using the same primary colors.
And here is my design.
Lui said she would love a mat with this design.
I think I would love one too but I don't think I want to sleep on mats!

A Rose For All the Ladies!

Lui helped me draw and color this rose with all the names of women I know and love!
And they include my sister, my sisters in law, my nieces, my yaya and my teacher. ;-)

KItchen Lamp

Lui like this lamp in our kitchen.
She thinks it is a perfect object for our workshop today
because it has wonderful designs for me to capture.

I sketch the details one at a time . . .

Then I go over the drawing by shading the lines.

And my drawing made the lamp memorable!

My next exercise is to design my own lamp:

It may appear strange but Lui told me that she saw a lamp that resembles mine in a children's room. Lui said the lamp she saw was designed like a house with windows that also functions like a clock!

Plateria

I am capturing on paper one of our display cabinets.
Lui said she remembers an old cabinet they had which resembles ours.
But ours is special because it also carry good memories!
In it are special objects and mementos
that my late mother owned and collected.
And my drawing made it special!

Brass Topped Table

This is one of the center tables in our house.
To capture it in my sketchpad means to capture it in my memory as well.
As I draw, I told Lui about the events where this table was part of.
And the memories make this table special.

Fruits!

I love fruits and I have them every day!
So I made a drawing of my bananas:
. . . and placed some apples on the bowl
and decorated my table with all the fruits I like . . .
and framed them on the window in the house
to create a new study for my painting next week:

Gifts!

I received special gifts this week.
A cross pendant from a Bishop,
a cat measuring tape from my sister Amce,
and a cute key holder from my brother Ricky.
So I asked Lui to help me capture them in my sketchpad
so I will always remember them!

This is my interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh's painting of "Starry, Starry Night" as I sang a song done by Don McLean in tribute to this painting! Lui said we should paint images from the songs I love!

Doing A Master: Marc Chagall

I am doing my version of Marc Chagall's still life of jonquils.
And the best way to do it is to follow Lui:

And my finish work:

Malang inspired work

I made this drawing last week but I was not able to finish it because I felt dizzy. I told teacher Lui that maybe my medications are making me sleepy and Lui called my caregiver Rey right away!

But this week I finished it:
Malang is a filipino painter who uses several images in one work.

Apples On A Table

My art session with Lui today is about drawing an apple on top of a table but with the view on top! Can you see the two chairs and the apples, the two plates on top of the table?
